Molly Caudery, Team GB pole vaulter, posted a tribute on her Instagram story.
She wrote: “The most heartbreaking news.
“Never failed to make everyone around you smile, will be missed by so many.”
The Loughborough Pole Vault Squad was also among those who commemorated the late athlete.
In an Instagram post, the club expressed their grief, stating they couldn’t “comprehend that you are gone”.
They said Ethan was “a legend of our pole vaulting world, getting back up no matter how many times this sport knocked you down”.
“A natural-born pole vaulter, technically one of the best we have ever had,” the club added.
“Walshy we will miss you, but we will carry you with us always. RIP Ethan.”
