NFT Limited has released its RWAIX verification protocol as open source software and announced plans to test it on a live NFT transaction within 90 days.

Summary

  • NFT Limited has released its RWAIX protocol on GitHub after completing 50 internal tests without any reported failures.
  • The company plans to test the protocol on its existing NFT marketplace within 90 days, with a live transaction targeted for Q1 2027.
  • RWAIX is designed to verify purchase agreements, asset delivery, payments and disputes through records accessible to independent parties.
  • Future applications involving AI computing services and robotics remain under consideration, with no commercial projects announced.
  • No RWAIX tokens have been issued, and the planned NFT pilot will use existing banking channels to process payments.

According to the company’s announcement, the NYSE American-listed firm has completed 50 internal software tests without recording any failures and published a reference implementation on GitHub for independent review.

The proposed protocol is designed to create verifiable records of agreements, asset delivery, payments, and disputes between buyers and sellers. NFT Limited intends to begin with its existing digital art marketplace before considering applications involving artificial intelligence agents and robotics.

A limited pilot is targeted for the first quarter of 2027, subject to an independent security review and other conditions. The company has not yet integrated RWAIX into its production platform.

RWAIX protocol to undergo its first live trial on an NFT marketplace

NFT Limited plans to introduce RWAIX through Metaverse Digital Payment Co., Limited, its wholly owned Hong Kong subsidiary, which operates the company’s existing digital art trading platform.

The initial trial will involve one NFT order, covering the purchase agreement, delivery confirmation, independent verification, payment, and any dispute that may arise during the transaction.

Under the proposed system, participants would be able to review records of what was agreed upon and whether each part of the transaction was completed. Independent verifiers would have access to the same information instead of relying entirely on records maintained by the marketplace operator.

The company said the protocol could help establish the identities of participants, including automated software agents, and document the actions they are authorized to perform.

For the first trial, NFT Limited intends to use existing banking channels to process payments. No cryptocurrency will be required, and the company has not announced plans to introduce a token for the pilot.

Development will follow a three-stage schedule covering 90 days.

During the first 30 days, the company plans to finalize the software environment, platform arrangements, and artwork rights associated with the selected transaction.

Between days 31 and 60, developers will run simulated orders, payments, and disputes in a controlled environment to examine the complete transaction process.

The final 30 days are reserved for a possible live order involving actual customer funds, provided the necessary security review has been completed and the company determines that the trial can proceed.

NFT Limited said it would make a separate announcement when the live pilot begins.

Open source release includes 50 automated tests

The RWAIX reference implementation has been published under the MIT License, allowing developers to access, modify, and test the software independently.

Its GitHub repository contains the core protocol logic written in Node.js, API documentation, schema definitions, and 50 automated test cases with expected results.

A browser-based demonstration using synthetic data is included to show how the system is intended to operate.

The company reported that all 50 tests passed during an internally administered evaluation. Developers can reproduce the test suite locally, although the reported results do not constitute an independent security assessment.

NFT Limited has made the software available through its RWAIX website and GitHub repository while preparing the planned marketplace integration.

Chief Executive Officer Yanying Wang said the company intends to use its existing customer and payment infrastructure to determine whether the proposed verification system can function during a real transaction.

“We already operate a platform with customers, orders, and payments. With RWAIX, we are working to make that system verifiable and trustworthy for everyone involved,” Wang said.

The executive said the next 90 days would be used to establish whether the software could handle an actual customer order, with possible applications outside NFT trading remaining dependent on the outcome.

NFT Limited considers AI compute and robotics applications

Beyond digital art transactions, NFT Limited is examining whether RWAIX could support agreements involving rented computing resources and remotely operated robots.

One proposed application concerns GPU rental services, where customers pay providers for access to computing capacity. Under the concept outlined by the company, RWAIX could record whether the contracted computing service was delivered before authorizing payment.

Such a system would require a way to verify the work completed by the service provider and maintain a record accessible to the parties involved.

The company has not signed any AI compute customers, and no commercial deployment has been funded or contracted.

A separate proposal concerns humanoid robots operating under remote instructions. NFT Limited described a system in which robots could receive authorization limited to specific tasks and time periods, with their actions recorded for subsequent verification.

As of press time, the robotics project is yet to start, and the company has not announced a development partner for the proposed application.

Other companies have begun developing payment and verification systems for autonomous software.

In June, crypto.news reported that Casper Network had launched an AI toolkit on its mainnet, allowing autonomous agents to make blockchain payments and deploy decentralized applications. The release included an x402 payment facilitator for purchasing online services.

Later that month, OKX introduced an AI marketplace where software agents could find work, complete tasks, receive onchain payments, and build transaction histories. The beta platform combined agent identity, escrow payments, reputation records, and dispute resolution.

In September, Polygon tested an agent payment system that processed more than 11 million verified payment updates per second across 25 hubs. Its architecture used offchain payment channels and periodically settled accumulated payment states on Polygon.

NFT Limited’s proposed system differs in its initial payment arrangements, since the planned NFT trial will rely on conventional bank transfers without requiring a cryptocurrency.

RWAIX token proposals remain unapproved

Although the RWAIX whitepaper describes possible digital assets, NFT Limited said neither of its proposed token concepts has been created or offered to investors.

One concept, called DCNFT, would represent ownership in a specific physical facility, such as a data center, if the company eventually establishes one.

The second, $RWAIX, is described as a possible token for network fees and service rewards.

NFT Limited has not established a launch date for either concept, sought regulatory approval, or announced a token sale.

The company has not committed funding or signed contracts for the proposed applications beyond its initial NFT platform development.

Its latest announcement comes during a difficult period for digital collectibles marketplaces.

On October 12, Blur announced that it would close its trading website on November 12 while keeping its Ethereum marketplace contracts operational. Its Blend lending protocol will stop matching new loans on the same date.

Binance had previously announced the closure of its NFT marketplace in June, with the service ending on July 3 after users were instructed to withdraw eligible assets.

NFT Limited has not announced any comparable closure of its digital art platform. Its proposed RWAIX integration is intended to introduce transaction verification capabilities to an existing service.

According to the company’s October 13 announcement, the development work is being carried out through Agent Link Tech Ltd., another subsidiary involved in upgrading its trading platform.

NFT Limited, formerly known as Takung Art Co. Ltd., operates an electronic marketplace for digital artwork and provides NFT consulting services.

The company cited industry figures from IDC and the International Federation of Robotics when outlining potential future applications. IDC estimated that global public cloud spending exceeded $1 trillion in 2026 and forecast AI-related IT spending of approximately $1.3 trillion by 2029.

Data cited from the International Federation of Robotics placed the number of industrial robots operating worldwide at approximately 5 million as of September 2026.

NFT Limited clarified that the figures were industry estimates and did not represent its own revenue forecasts or addressable market projections.

In its forward-looking statement, the company acknowledged that RWAIX remains unproven in a production environment. Its reference implementation has not undergone an independent audit, and the company has not obtained regulatory clearance or guidance specific to the protocol.

The planned security review and live transaction trial remain outstanding, with the company warning that the Q1 2027 target could be delayed or abandoned.
