Ukraine’s full access to Starshield has been restored, the country’s defense ministry said Saturday, two days after US President Donald Trump said Elon Musk had restored access to the military-grade version of his Starlink internet service.
“The Ministry of Defense’s monitoring systems are recording a recovery in Starlink/Starshield speeds,” Ukrainian Minister of Defense Yevheniy Khmara said in a statement.
“We are recording speeds exceeding 400 km/h; the connection is stable.”
He added that the defense ministry is continuing to track the progress.
It’s not clear if the restoration of Starshield speeds could be felt across the country. One source on the ground in Ukraine’s Donetsk region told CNN Saturday morning that the speed in their area continued to be limited to 160 kilometers per hour.
